Responsibilities
Provides knowledge and expertise in a particular discipline, subject matter, or specialized process required for construction (e.g., tunnel boring, site de-watering, glove boxes, special coatings systems, HVAC systems, Fire Detection and Suppression, reactor tender gallery coordinator, etc.) Provides technical consultation support to projects
Work Planning & Packaging
Prepares construction drawings and sketches. Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of 'as built' drawings and other job plans
Material Management
Initiates requisitions for field purchases. Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment
Quantities
Leads the verification of commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required
Safety / Quality Control
Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely
Technical
Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
STR / Subcontract Coordinator
Reviews and approves inspection test plans
Qualification
Required
Typically requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Preferred
Experience with Bechtel direct hire craft preferred
Contract management experience
Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures is preferred
Experience in mining and metals
Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including ACONEX, TEAMWorks, Bechtel Productivity System, PTR, eSub and other automation tools which are used on Bechtel projects is an asset
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards
Excellent communication and problem-solving ability
