DevSecOps Digital Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

Help design or implement secure, automated infrastructure solutions for high-performance computing environments thru Agile software development and cybersecurity
Work as part of our team to perform and review code changes and documentation as needed
Work with or help maintain our continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to allow for frequent, trouble-free deployments of code while continuously incorporating Thread Intelligence
Configure or optimize various compute, firewall, or network resources and networks including bare metal or environments
Coordinate with the team to identify risks, issues, requirements, and design solutions for project-level activity on a daily basis
Apply knowledge, skills, & abilities gained in the classroom to our research & development efforts

Required

Motivated, self-starting individual
Ability to help design or implement secure, automated infrastructure solutions for high-performance computing environments
Experience with Agile software development and cybersecurity
Ability to perform and review code changes and documentation as needed
Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
Ability to configure or optimize various compute, firewall, or network resources
Ability to coordinate with the team to identify risks, issues, requirements, and design solutions for project-level activity
Ability to apply knowledge, skills, & abilities gained in the classroom to research & development efforts
Ability to obtain a government security clearance
Must be a U.S. citizen
Successful completion of background check(s)
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen

Preferred

High interest in supporting Linux-based infrastructures or system administration
Experience with security profile evaluation and application
Familiarity with Ansible, Puppet, or shell/scripting languages
Experience with Splunk, ELK stack, or Prometheus logging platforms
Basic understanding of software virtualization or networking
Experience with cybersecurity assessments, incident response, or investigations
Knowledge of security control or policy integration
Familiarity with DevOps / DevSecOps tools and practices
Experience with infrastructure / automation
Knowledge of configuration management via Git, Bitbucket, or GitLab
Experience with container / orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Knowledge of software vulnerability or compliance assessment
Understanding of system security architectures including firewalls, router ACLs, web content filters, and Demilitarized Zones (DMZ)
Troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems
Effective communication between business and technology areas
Well-organized, independent and eager to learn
