Systems Research and Development Engineer
The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University is seeking a motivated mid to senior level Systems Research and Development Engineer to join their Command, Control, and Communications innovations Division. The role involves researching, designing, developing, integrating, and testing advanced communications systems while collaborating with a diverse engineering team.

Organize and direct a multi-disciplinary, strong, and diverse engineering team
Balance team members with the process to achieve a final product
Provide technical leadership within the CSP Division projects
Plan and direct research projects related to communications
Propose and lead new initiatives; guide programs of national or international significance; identify future problems, research trends, and opportunities
Collaborate with Systems Engineering and Subsystem Design Teams to learn the design and operation of our undersea systems
Interact and collaborate regularly with the engineering team, principal investigator, sponsors, and other stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Masters' degree in Electrical Engineering
Ten years' related experience
Experience working in an Agile environment
General experience with Microsoft applications
Proficiency with SAP(SIMBA), ProPricer, and Concur
FFRDC or UARC experience
Signal Processing
Computer Networking
Communications protocols - OSI stack, UDP/TCP/IP
Familiarity with wireless specifications such as cellular(4G/5G)/WiFi (802.11)
RF
