Responsibilities
Responsible for promoting and adhering to Barton Malow’s high standards of quality to customers
Create and maintain a culture of quality through coaching and mentoring of employees at all levels
Control and distribute company’s quality documentation
Monitor and work collaboratively with site staff on all quality related activities on projects
Perform internal and external audits when needed
Verify contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals
Coordinate quality audits with all the site subcontractors and vendors
Monitor all inspection test plans (ITP’s)
When required, attend client quality management meetings
Prepare and control project quality system documentation prior to project commencement
Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements
Monitor and track the disposition of all issues non-conformance reports
Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project QMS on site and in the office. Recommend and continuously implement improvements when required
Control all archive documentation upon the completion of the project
Control of on site and off-site 3rd party inspectors
Work with project staff on resolution of any nonconforming product(s)
Reviewing contractors QA/QC systems in accordance with contractual requirements with Project Supervision
Coordination of contractor quality approvals when required with Project Supervision
Ensure the verification of documentation and certificates for materials purchased by vendors
Communicate with management for quality improvements
Coordinate all inspection receipts
Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site contractors
Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards
Qualification
Required
Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering or related field considered an asset
Quality Management certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent
Minimum 3 years' experience in a quality management role, in the construction industry
Working Knowledge of the requirements of the ISO 9000 quality standards and their implementation is required
Working knowledge of CWB W47.1, W59, Welding procedures, Weld Testing requirements
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment
Able to create alternative solutions to problems
Excellent time management and coordination skills
High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Able to work well under pressure
Strong attention to detail
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, Project, etc.)
