Responsibilities

Take responsibility for ensuring the safety, quality and efficiency of internal welding processes
Serve as Local Process Owner (LPO) for Flow USA
Confirm all welding activities meet and comply with the required industry standards and codes
Provide/facilitate weld theory and hands-on training for internal welders/welding operators according to ASME BPVC. Section IX
Proactively identify, plan & assist with implementation of welding process continuous improvement
Participate in global networks and activities related to welding and non-destructive/destructive testing
Oversee creation of procedure qualifications (PQR), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ)
Where applicable, create and/or refine welding processes, equipment and consumables to achieve the required specifications for quality, safety and reliability

Required

Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in mechanical engineering or welding engineering field
8+ yrs of experience in a manufacturing environment
CWI or IWE Certification required
Experience working with ASME BPVC. Section IX required
Understanding of metallurgy & weld processes for various steel & alloys
Ability to explain and document technical material to less technically proficient users
Ability to train welding techniques to welders/welding operators
Strong self-management and initiative to lead and influence teams
Occasional international travel: 1-2 weeks per year
Must be a team player, showing a willingness to work with others towards common goals

Preferred

Familiarity with international welding quality standards
Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) experience or certification in Non-Destructive Testing
