Responsibilities
Perform fundamental research in data security and write peer-reviewed scientific papers
Designing new Adversarial Federated Learning Technologies and mitigation techniques
Present work to colleagues within Seagate and at external conferences
Learn about and contribute to an understudied but fundamental pillar of the Internet, AI, and data science fields
Collaborate with experts around the globe, both Seagate-affiliated and outside
Join an exciting cohort of students in a wide array of fields, including computer science, chemical & mechanical engineering, and biology
Qualification
Required
Good verbal and written communication skills
Teamwork is a core competency at Seagate, so you must be able to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of people
Familiarity with principles of machine learning and systems security is essential
Have research/publication record in Federated Learning, Machine Learning, or related field
Have programming skills using one or more languages such as Python
Current MS or PhD student in computer science or a closely related subject and enrolled in Fall 2026 classes
