Research Assistant III Non-Lab (Research Project and Data Assistant)

The position of Research Assistant III focuses on supporting research related to health policy, particularly regarding health insurance coverage, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act, while performing high-level statistical programming and data analysis.

Responsibilities
Support and conduct quantitative analyses of administrative and survey data using statistical programming languages (i.e.: Stata preferred but not required), including data cleaning and assessments of data quality
Perform logical and thorough literature searches
Provide relevant meeting support (e.g., logistics, supporting materials, notes)
Obtain and organize information on health policy change over time from state and federal websites
Assist in the preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts for submission and publication
Assist in the preparation of data use agreements, IRB applications, study protocols, and other administrative tasks relevant to research
Make periodic reports to supervisor and other research team personnel
Attend regular meetings and check-ins with supervisor and other research team personnel
Producing charts and tables for manuscripts and presentations
Assisting with grant reporting and developing & communicating submission timelines
Supporting journal submission and revision processes
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
2+ years of relevant experience is required; a combination of education and experience may be considered
Experience using statistical software such as STATA (preferred) or R is required
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a health or social science discipline, including quantitative and statistical coursework
Experience with federal or state health policy, especially in the area of health insurance and Medicaid
Experience programming in STATA
Knowledge of standard research methods and statistical techniques, including multivariate regression and causal inference methods
Attention to detail, organized, strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Experience using statistical software such as STATA (preferred) or R
