Social Services Program Director
Forest County Potawatomi Community is seeking a Social Services Program Director to develop and oversee culturally-sensitive social services programs. The role involves strategic planning, collaboration with various stakeholders, and ensuring fiscal responsibility while promoting the community's priorities and needs.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Develops departmental goals, operational objectives, and budgets in line with short and long-range plans for culturally-sensitive social services programs
Strategically plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the various Social Services programs in keeping with the Tribal community’s priorities and needs
Develops and maintains effective inter-agency working relationships while protecting Tribal sovereignty
Collaborates with the Division Administrator to consult with governmental officials at the tribal, municipal, and county levels, private industry, and community members
Demonstrates excellent customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation and continuous improvement
Ensures fiscal responsibility
Prepares a variety of reports, studies, and correspondence for Division Administrator, Executive Council, Tribal Court, Tribal Prosecutors, and Tribal community on program services
Completes employee performance evaluations, ensures that training is completed, and administers corrective action with consultation from Human Resources
Establishes and coordinates policies and procedures
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
5 years of experience in a social work setting
5 years of leadership experience
Experience appearing in a court setting
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, family studies, or closely related field
Pass a background check with fingerprint clearance and drug test as a condition of employment and must continue to maintain throughout duration of employment
Effectively use computers and computer application software
Work more than forty hours in a workweek and unusual hours in the event of emergency needs
Understanding of grants and grant compliance
Preferred
5-10 years of progressive experience including at least 3 years of experience leading a tribal ICW program
Master's degree in social work, psychology, family studies, or closely related field
Experience working in a tribal setting
