Responsibilities

Monitor and inspect shipbuilding processes, including hull fabrication, machinery installation, and outfitting

Review and approve construction procedures and specifications for compliance with classification and statutory requirements

Conduct progressive inspections during construction phases and attend sea trials

Perform condition assessments, damage surveys, and compliance inspections on in-service vessels

Evaluate structural integrity, machinery performance, and safety systems

Prepare detailed technical reports and recommend corrective actions or repairs

Ensure adherence to IMO conventions, flag state regulations, and classification society standards

Liaise with shipowners, operators, and regulatory authorities to resolve compliance issues

Provide expert guidance on marine engineering, hull structures, and safety systems

Support risk assessments and incident investigations

Qualification

Required

Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related field

Strong professional experience in marine surveying, including new construction and operational vessels

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
