They are seeking a Vice President for Tax Compliance Quality Assurance to lead product development, collaborate with technology teams for process improvement, and engage with stakeholders to enhance tax documentation systems.

Responsibilities

Lead product development for U.S. Tax Form W-8/W-9 Documentation systems, ensuring efficient and accurate validation processes
Draft business requirements, functional documents, technical user stories, and user manuals
Oversee User Acceptance Testing, defect management, and data review/clean-up exercises
Provide training and onboarding support for stakeholders and new clients using tax documentation systems
Monitor, analyze, and report on new tax developments, legislation, and guidance impacting product offerings
Take ownership of business cases, identifying customer needs while ensuring risk appetite and control frameworks are satisfied
Collaborate with technology teams to streamline tax validation and documentation processes
Conduct independent reviews of business processes and data quality, proposing improvements
Work closely with Product Development partners to ensure business requirements are understood and delivery plans are tracked
Lead periodic meetings with stakeholders, updating project decks with timelines, risks, issues, and metrics
Collaborate with Corporate Tax, Tax Operations, Technology, Onboarding, and Relationship Management teams to address BAU challenges and future state processes
Represent BNY in relevant tax industry working group meetings
Draft client communications to provide updates on tax law changes and U.S. tax processes
Provide timely updates to business partners, including Risk and Compliance

Required

Minimum 5 years' experience in financial services/tax product roles within complex, enterprise environments
Deep expertise in U.S. tax operations, especially W8/W9 validation and 8966 account identification process
Preferably qualified as a tax advisor or tax lawyer; CPA a plus
Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and experience in tax product development lifecycle
Familiarity with project management methodologies (including Agile)
Experience working with business and technology architecture
Superior communication and presentation skills, able to articulate business and technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Exceptionally organized, adept at managing multiple projects, and comfortable with corporate governance and reporting
Ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels across multi-disciplined, global teams
