Responsibilities

Operational and clinical oversight of a multidisciplinary clinical practice with varying specialties and sub-specialties with responsibilities including but not limited to: Personnel Management
Financial Management & Budget Oversight
Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff and managers, practice and division leaders, and other stakeholders to implement best practices, address operational, clinical, and/or administrative concerns to ensure efficient operations of the practice
Effectively communicates with medical, clinical, clerical staff, patients, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient operations of the medical practice and high level patient care
Performs routine examinations and preventive healthcare for patients seen in the clinic
Obtains medical histories, organizes relevant data, performs physical examinations, and suggests pertinent laboratory, radiographic or other studies that are needed to establish or support a diagnosis
Performs preliminary reviews of radiographs, laboratory data, ECG’s and other relevant clinical information; formulates and orders (Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner license) therapeutic regimens for treatment of pathologic states or disabling entities
Documents histories, physical examinations, and relevant clinical information, ensuring adequate documentation of existing medical conditions; medically classifies patients according to physical, functional and emotional capabilities
Monitors treatment progress and protocols of patients in chronic care clinical settings; counsels patients on preventive medicine regimens; reviews medical records or therapeutic regimens to insure proper content and appropriateness of medical regimen
Provides patient counseling and health instruction about medical problems, nutrition, medication and principles of health promotion and maintenance
Serves as representative and emissary of the physician in delegated matters of related duties as required. Interdisciplinary coordination and clinical care responsibilities
Documents all health care encounters and relevant clinical information in the electronic medical records
Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance
Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure

Required

Master's degree from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program / Advanced practice Registered Nurse (APRN) program with a national certification or degree in a similar field preferred
Must possess current licensure as a Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Texas
Minimum of five (5) years' experience as an Advanced Practice Provider and two (2) years of leadership or supervisory experience in either an ambulatory or ancillary setting
Ability to manage the daily operations of an outpatient practice
Personnel management and supervision
Ability to function in a highly complex environment, interpret, analyze and present data of a complex nature
Proven ability to foster collaborative and constructive relationships
Experience with preparation of operating budgets, analyze/evaluate clinical & operational data, and utilize this information to make appropriate decisions and recommendations
Exceptional communication, leadership and organizational skills

Preferred

MBA, MHA, or related area
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in a specialty or sub-specialty in desired field
