Responsibilities
Directs all aspects of the clinical and anatomic pathology departments and their related services
Establishes policies, procedures, standards, objectives and staffing for the laboratory in conjunction with the laboratory’s Medical Director
Maintains accreditation through compliance with NYSDOH and CAP regulations
Prepares the laboratory’s annual budget and adheres to it through the oversite of expenditures and revenue
Mentors and instructs laboratory professionals and evaluates their performance
Coordinates with other hospital departments to optimize patient care
Adopts new technologies, as technically and financially appropriate, to improve revenue and expand testing capabilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related field required
At least 5 years progressive leadership experience preferably in a clinical setting
Demonstrates leadership ability with excellent communication skills
Exceptional oral and writing skills
Demonstrates critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to make a decision within organizational structure
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
