Supervisory Federal Air Marshal/Regional Director

Responsibilities
Effectively deploying Federal Air Marshals in accordance with TSA and LE/FAMS strategic goals and Concept of Operations
Conducting activities and making arrests related to terrorism and threats to aviation security and the civil transportation system, and coordinating related activities; surveillance detection, and tactical deployments with law enforcement, Federal Security Directors, and the aviation and civil transportation industries
Performing effective liaison activities with Federal, state, local, and foreign officials, law enforcement agencies, and critical stakeholders to support multilateral law enforcement and counterterrorism efforts
Providing executive level leadership to establish and maintain strategic direction and direct major law enforcement and security activities. Communicates a clear vision, defining short and long range program plans, goals, requirements and priorities
Providing executive level leadership to provide for the effective staffing, deployment, training, and equipping Federal Air Marshals and support staff, to include the Visual Intermodal Prevention and Response (VIPR) team and Assistant Federal Security Directors for Law Enforcement (AFSD-LE), necessary to ensure effective and efficient implementation of DHS, TSA, and LE/FAMS strategy
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must serve a probationary period of one year unless you previously completed the probationary period in a SES/TSES position
Must complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency
If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, you must certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so
Subject to pre-employment and random drug tests
Must file a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report OGE-278e within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on
Must complete a favorable Tier 5 Background Investigation (T5)
This position requires a TS/SCI (Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information) clearance that must be completed prior to appointment
You will be subject to a 5-year periodic investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. Failure to obtain and maintain the required clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
You must have prior experience in a primary law enforcement position
FIREARMS CERTIFICATION: This position requires the incumbent to carry a firearm. You must pass a certification at an interval required by the hiring/employing law enforcement component within TSA. Failure to do so will result in the revocation of firearm authorization and any other appropriate administrative action, up to and including removal
MEDICAL STANDARDS: Selectees are required to meet the entry and recurrent medical standards of the Federal Air Marshal Medical Examination Program
Candidates must demonstrate progressively responsible leadership experience that is indicative of senior executive level managerial capability and directly related to the skills and abilities outlined under the Technical Qualifications and Executive Core Qualifications
