PT Associate Faculty - Communication
NEOGOV is seeking an Associate Faculty of Communications to provide instruction for a diverse student population at Cochise College. The role involves teaching assigned courses, developing lesson plans, and collaborating with faculty to enhance the instructional program.

Responsibilities
Teaches assigned courses to enrolled students and manages a diverse population of students in a classroom, laboratory, or in an online environment
Develops, prepares, and implements lesson plans; conducts pre- and post-assessment of students; evaluates, assesses, and plans for students’ educational and social needs
Completes all college and department reports on or before the due date/time
Responds to communications from students and colleagues within 48 hours
Collaborates with other faculty and staff in the assessment of teaching strategies and the effectiveness of the instructional program to help promote a culture of continuous improvement
Maintains student records, statistics, and/or other pertinent information as required by the college and the department
Resolves issues relevant to area of responsibility and scope of authority, referring more difficult or complex problems to the appropriate Department Chair, Dean, or other College official
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Communication, Speech, English, Journalism, or Marketing or a Master's degree in any discipline plus 18 graduate hours any of those areas from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education
Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
Knowledge of trends, developments, and new technologies affecting education and the Communication program
Knowledge of research-based adult learning principles
Knowledge of developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum and instructional approaches
Skill in current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications and Learning Management Software
Skill in using authentic assessment to evaluate students' needs and progress
Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations
Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with attention to detail
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Ability to effectively identify and analyze problems, identify solutions, and take appropriate actions to resolve using independent judgment and decision-making processes while maintaining strict confidentiality related to sensitive information
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students, and the public
