Junior Physics Modeling Engineer

Responsibilities
We are seeking a Junior Physics Mechanics or Electromagnets Engineer to support the model development, configuration management, testing, and analysis of physics-based simulations and modeling inputs for various flight vehicles
Models include kinematic trajectories, endo- and exo-atmospheric environmental phenomenology, and electromagnetic signatures
The engineer will deliver the modeling inputs to both support internal analysis and as inclusion in deliverable models to our government customers and end-users
The engineer will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, demonstrating the capability to customers and stakeholders, and potentially leading a team of engineers and software developers to design and develop these models
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with experienced engineers and develop expertise in vehicle dynamics, electromagnetic modeling, and environmental phenomenology
Qualification
Required
The candidate must be a US citizen and have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor of Science degree in technical disciplines such as Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
0-4 years of experience
Practical knowledge of physics-based modeling, simulation, or analysis
Fundamental knowledge trajectory propagation
Experience or coursework in mechanics and electromagnetic physics theory
Proficiency in a scripting language like MATLAB or Python for modeling, simulation, and data analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented, configuration management and organization skills
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
Preferred
Master's Degree with emphasis on aerodynamics, propulsion, dynamics, or electromagnetic signals
Active Secret Clearance and ability to be onsite during working hours due to the nature of the work
Experience in physics-based modeling, simulation, and analysis of flight vehicles
3+ years of physics-based kinematics or electromagnetic signal modeling experience
Strong understanding of numerical methods, and data analysis workflow development
