Interns will gain practical experience by participating in real-world projects across various departments, including marketing, sponsorship, studio production, and digital content.

Responsibilities

Hands-on experience working with brand, sports marketing, social media promotion, event planning and to help with its event marketing initiatives; BTN Big 10K, Football Media Days and B1G Tailgate

Assist the Big Ten Corporate Partnership department in managing select Big Ten partner activations, including pre-event planning, on-site event activation (i.e., Football Media Days), and recap reports

The studio production Intern will help us prepare for the upcoming season, as well as assisting with production of B1G Today studio show. Duties will include logging games, finding footage, and researching historical stories

Working with the Director of Broadcast Engineering. Engineering Intern will help with installation of new set electronics and performing maintenance on broadcast systems

The Digital Intern will work closely with the Digital Content, Digital Partnerships, Streaming and Video Operations teams. During the internship, you will have exposure/will be able to support content strategy/social media distribution, video archives, customer relationship management, and digital research

The Intern for the remote production department will work with production staff to help prepare for live game broadcasts on the Big Ten Network and B1G+. This may include working on and preparing for coverage of our fall sports such as football, helping prepare and execute Big Ten Volleyball media days and organizing a variety of production elements and paperwork to get prepared for the upcoming season

The B1G Network Originals Intern will be responsible for providing production support to our originals team on summer productions. This can range from assisting going through interviews, helping screen and locate footage, helping organize BTN assets, creating player reels and scenic reels, and going on location for Big Ten Football Media Day

Required

Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree during the length of the program

Current class standing of sophomore, (second-year college student) or above

Strong academic record

Committed and available to work for the entire length of the program

Access to own housing and transportation to/from the assigned Internship site

Must be able to work on-site in Chicago, IL

Must demonstrate knowledge of the company and sports media industry

Are required to provide a copy of an unofficial transcript or letter from the adviser/registrar showing proof of enrollment

Knowledge of current Big Ten Network programming and talent

The ability to maintain a professional demeanor when interfacing with talent and executives

Knowledge of software/technical skills applicable to your areas of placement

Knowledge of and passion for a variety of sports

A detail-oriented nature with strong organizational skills

Self-starter attitude and team player

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to handle a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
