Johnson Law Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Workers' Compensation division in our Chicago office. The role involves providing comprehensive paralegal support throughout the lifecycle of workers' compensation cases, including drafting legal documents and maintaining accurate case files.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive paralegal support throughout the lifecycle of workers' compensation cases, ensuring all deadlines and procedures are met

Draft and prepare legal documents specific to workers' compensation cases, including applications, petitions, responses, and settlement agreements

Organize, review, and summarize medical records relevant to workers' compensation claims

Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and answering inquiries with empathy and professionalism

Understand and apply Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission rules and procedures for filings and hearings

Conduct factual and legal research relevant to workers' compensation claims in Illinois

Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials, including organizing exhibits and witness files

Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and records in our case management system

Required

Associate or bachelor's Degree

Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Prior experience as a paralegal, preferably in workers' compensation or personal injury

Familiarity with Illinois Workers' Compensation laws and procedures

Understand and apply Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission rules and procedures for filings and hearings

Preferred

Paralegal certification is a plus

Bilingual preferred
