Responsibilities
Proactively build foundational relationships with local subcontractors, vendors, and clients, establishing a robust presence in the West Alabama region
Lead the analysis of plans, specifications, and site logistics to produce detailed, complete, and highly competitive cost estimates for major site development and heavy civil projects
Identify, vet, and organize third-party quotes, ensuring all scopes are comprehensive, competitive, and align with project profitability goals
Maintain and leverage historical data, cost databases, and standard operating procedures to ensure continuous improvement and accuracy (Target: <3% variance)
Qualification
Required
5+ Years of Proven Success in professional estimating or project experience within a high-volume general contractor or heavy civil environment
Deep knowledge of site development, earthwork, grading, utilities, topography, and rock excavation/blasting
Confidence in managing complex bids, budgets, and cost reviews, making data-driven decisions that secure margins
Proven ability to foster trusted, collaborative partnerships across all project stakeholders (subcontractors, engineers, agencies)
