Design Manager - Water (Scranton / Wilkes-Barre)

They are seeking an experienced Engineer / Design Manager to manage and coordinate technical teams within projects, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction while driving successful water-related outcomes.
Responsibilities
Design engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief (for example, in terms of functionality, performance, aesthetics, and cost) that conforms to organizational and/or regulatory standards
Contribute to the analysis of information, the drafting of engineering standards and specifications, and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards within own engineering discipline to inform engineering work in the organization and/or of its suppliers, contractors, and consultants
Deliver small- or medium-scale projects while working within an established program management plan
Analyze information and specify the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems to deliver the end product within specified cost and quality parameters
Deliver required outcomes by managing day-to-day relationships with contract service providers while working within an established contract management plan
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media
Carry out inspections to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and specify the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements
Manage relationships with small clients while also helping senior colleagues manage relationships with larger key clients and customers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field of study
EIT and either have or be seeking to obtain a PE
At least 6 years of technical, administrative and project experience, managing the design delivery for larger, multi-discipline projects specifically for water and wastewater, industrial/process plants, facilities, or buildings
Previous consulting experience strongly desired
Knowledge of scheduling software and engineering and capital cost estimating techniques is a definite asset
Able and willing to travel to client job sites as needed (primarily local with the occasional overnight)
