Responsibilities

Frequently reviews all security-related functions and measures to ensure that all are effective and in compliance with 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1542, SD, NA, and ASP
Performs regular security inspections of tenant facilities, terminals, construction projects and airport grounds to ensure compliance with CFR 1542, ASP, SD, NA, and Airport Rules & Regulation
Performs regular comprehensive security assessments, audits, and security tests
Responds to requests for information from TSA, federal and local law enforcement agencies, and airport stakeholders
Performs routine testing both (overt and covert) of security measures to ensure enforcement of DFW security policies, procedures, and the ASP
Reviews reports and informs the Airport Security Coordinator of security violations and incidents; reviews, investigates and resolves violations, customer complaints, and other issues
Communicates on a daily basis with various airport stakeholders to resolve security issues, complaints, incident reports, etc
Coordinates and conducts security outreach training programs to keep airport employees/tenants current on security regulations and policies
Review design plans to ensure appropriate security requirements and equipment are addressed prior to construction
Other assigned duties by Department of Safety (DPS) leadership

Required

Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent
Two (2) years aviation security, airport operations, or law enforcement experience
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above
Citizenship of the United States of America
Possession of a valid Class C driver's license
Has not been convicted of a Class “B” misdemeanor within the last ten years or any offense greater than a Class “B”
Knowledge of security related issues
Ability to speak, read and write English proficiently
Ability to use a computer and associated programs
Ability to take and prepare various types of reports either by telephone or in person
Ability to receive and process information of a sensitive or confidential nature with discretion, tact and diplomacy
Ability to observe and supervise security measures
Ability to follow established procedures and ensure compliance
Ability to communicate orally and in writing
Ability to maintain records
Ability to understand and adhere to the Airport Board's safety, security and fire protection policies when performing assigned work on Airport property
Ability to pass mandatory TSA required security training
Ability to complete all mandatory training
Ability to pass a criminal history records check and security threat assessment
Ability to complete AAAE – Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) training within six (6) months from hire date
Ability to recognize unacceptable airport security conditions and take appropriate action
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with airport tenants, governmental agencies and other Board employees
Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et al., and DFW Airport's Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal
This is a designated safety sensitive position as defined in DFW Airport's Drug and Alcohol Administrative Policy and Procedure. Applicants selected for this position will be required to pass a drug test prior to employment and to submit to drug screening on a random basis during the length of their employment in the safety sensitive position
Ability to obtain and maintain an FBI Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance within (6) six months from hire date

Preferred

General college coursework
Two (2) years of experience in aviation security, which may include anti-terrorism procedures and protection of airport assets
Knowledgeable with CFR 1520, 1540, 1542 regulations, Security Directives and National Amendments
