Responsibilities
Support/Development – 10+ years Microsoft Server technology and infrastructure platforms including:
Expert experience with VMWare v6-8, including daily support and upgrading/patching
Experience working in a team environment supporting mid-large Server 2016, 2019, 2022 + and Windows 10 environments (~500+ clients)
Familiar with server hardware – setup, management, hyperconverged experience a plus
Expert 10+ years experience of Active Directory and Group Policy
Working knowledge of network environments and concepts such as TCP/IP, DHCP. Does not need to be a network expert
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Backup environment experience a plus - Deduplication, snapshot, bare metal restores, retention policies & capacity planning
SQL a plus, does not need to be a DBA
Scripting experience a plus (RoboCopy, PowerShell, etc.)
Basic understanding of cloud technologies, preferably Azure, AWS, experience in Azure highly preferred
Experience evaluating and recommending new technologies, services and 3rd party vendors
Exposure to SCCM/WSUS patching a plus. Working knowledge is highly preferred
Good communication skills, English-Spoken/Written Mandatory
Responds to customer technical problems/issues related to hardware and software both for server areas
Diagnose problems and provide resolutions for technical and service issues
Monitors and tracks issues to ensure accurate resolution, including updating tickets with resolution details
Key operational responsibilities in server area: AD/GPO changes, patching, upgrades, backup, monitoring, trouble-shooting issues, servers, etc
Building servers in VMWare and configuring to customer requirements
Working with 3rd parties to provide service, resolve issues and provide solutions
Closely align with IS Service Teams and ensure standards/policies/processes are followed
Qualification
Required
10+ years Microsoft Server technology and infrastructure platforms
Expert experience with VMWare v6-8, including daily support and upgrading/patching
Experience working in a team environment supporting mid-large Server 2016, 2019, 2022 + and Windows 10 environments (~500+ clients)

Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
