Responsibilities

Handles moderate to high complexity claims within settlement authority

Ensures customer service excellence

Investigates and reviews policy forms, facts, and documents related to claims to make appropriate decisions on claim resolution, recognizing claim file exposures, and escalates appropriately

Establishes and reviews proper reserves for each claim based upon thorough investigation, evaluation, and experience

Maintains appropriate reports, ensuring the status of claims is clearly documented

Provides direction to outside resources

Acts as a resource to other members of the team

Makes well-reasoned recommendations to management on claim plan of action

Recognizes problems or situations that are new or without clear precedent and makes recommendations to solve problems

Finds solutions using a systematic, multistep approach

Primarily responsible for developing improvements and innovations to enhance performance

Regular contact with customers (policyholders, claimants, agents) as well as regular contact with employees across the organization

Regular contact with outside vendors

Travel for field work as required (e.g., scene investigations and inspecting property losses)

Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
