Lifesteps, Inc. is a human services organization serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years. They are seeking Part-Time Day Program Aides to assist adults with disabilities in activities at the Adult Training Facility, promoting engagement and skill development.

Responsibilities

Assisting adults who have disabilities with activities in the Adult Training Facility such as vocation training, basic work skills, basic hygiene, basic money management, community participation, crafts and activities and other life skills

Observing and reporting on the accomplishments of participants

Maintaining a safe and clean environment

Transporting participants in the Agency vehicle out into the community for learning, engagement and fun activities

Qualification

Crisis Prevention InterventionFirst AidCPRDisabilitiesHigh School Diploma/GEDLifting AbilityACRE CertificationCESP CertificationDegree in Relevant Field

Required

High School Diploma/GED

Current driver's license with the ability to travel utilizing an Agency vehicle

Obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) - provided by Lifesteps

First aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within six (6) months - provided by Lifesteps

Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 200 pounds •With Assistance•

Preferred

One year experience working with individuals with disabilities in the human services field - such as direct care aide, home health aide, personal care assistant, direct support professional, medical assistant, etc

Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators Certificate (ACRE)

Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP)

Associates or bachelor's degree in education, special education, sociology, social work, rehabilitation, counseling, therapy, transition programming, or any other major
