Student Assistant - Innovation & Research Commons Help Desk
Auburn University Libraries is seeking applicants for the position of Student Assistant to assist faculty and staff with daily library operations in the Innovation & Research Commons. The role involves providing direct service to library patrons, assisting with technology equipment, and maintaining a tidy environment in the Help Desk area.

Responsibilities
Provide direct service to library patrons at the I&RC Help Desk, which includes checking in/out technology equipment, answering questions, and directing patrons as needed
Set up wide-format printing for patrons
Help keep the area tidy
Help patrons use and perform basic troubleshooting of hardware, including but not limited to: PC and Mac desktop computers, laserjet printers, wide-format inkjet printers, and flatbed and large-format scanners/plotters
Help patrons locate microforms and operate microform reader/printers
Inventory and create lists of technology lending equipment
Inventory I&RC book collection
Qualification
Required
Enrolled student at Auburn University
Interest in public service and delivery of quality customer service
Be willing to work as a team member while interacting with faculty, staff, and students
Possess strong interpersonal and communications skills
Dependability, multi-tasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, balancing, hearing, handling objects with hands, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
