Chemical Engineer

Responsibilities
Works on chemical engineering problems of moderate scope and assists with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from higher level professionals
Applies research to the planning, design development and testing of chemical engineering systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines
Designs chemical plant equipment and processes for the manufacture of chemical products such as gasoline, synthetic rubber, plastics, detergents, cement, paper, and pulp
Determines most effective arrangement of operations such as mixing, crushing, heat transfer, distillation, oxidation, hydrogenation, and polymerization
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related Engineering discipline
A minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
Preferred
Candidates within a commutable distance to Lake Charles, LA are preferred
Experience in chemical engineering problems of moderate scope
Ability to work independently with general supervision
Practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience
