Parsons is seeking a mid-level Linux Systems Administrator to support both Linux based workstations and servers in physical and virtual environments. The role involves performing daily systems checks, troubleshooting user issues, and maintaining network designs and configurations.

Responsibilities

New user on-boarding and workstation imaging and configuration
Diagnose and resolve remote user and system infrastructure issues
Infrastructure monitoring and optimization
Plan and coordinate system outages and upgrades
Network monitoring and maintenance
Install server and network equipment in a datacenter environment
Document infrastructure architecture changes
Resolve user requests and issues reported to the HelpDesk
On rare occasions, support after hours system upgrades

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Candidate must have a current TS/SCI clearance with Poly
Bachelor's degree in a technology related discipline or equivalent experience may be accepted in place of a degree
3+ years experience with Linux operating systems, including installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Experience in maintaining virtual environments and deploying Linux services
Understanding of basic networking technologies (TCP/IP, UDP, Firewall)

Preferred

Familiar with virtualization and Docker technologies
Experience with automation technologies (Salt, Ansible, Puppet)
Experience with Atlassian software (Confluence, JIRA)
Experience with a wide variety of open source software and utilities
Experience managing FreeIPA or LDAP based systems
Background in Network Security, Intrusion Detection, and server monitoring
Familiar with server and networking equipment rack installations
