Mechanical Repair Technician

Responsibilities

Work in a team environment to accomplish goals
Utilize hand held precision measuring tools such as micrometers and depth mics
Perform quality work inspections to ensure the product meets quality standards
Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
Maintain a clean and safe work area per 5S practices

Required

Operate overhead crane and forklift
Use hand held power, hand held precision measuring and manual tools
Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble gearboxes/products
Good written and oral communication skills
Working knowledge of mechanical components/assemblies to suggest improvements
Ability to work accurately and thoroughly in a timely manner, while maintaining safety as a priority
Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea
Ability to lift and/or push 25 pounds, stand, bend, and squat with repetitive movements for 8 hours
High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
Work overtime on an as needed basis
High school diploma or GED

Preferred

3-5 years of mechanical assembly experience, gearbox preferred
