Senior Electrical Design Engineer- Data Center Power & Integration

Senior Management

Responsibilities

Own the design and validation of full-scope electrical systems, including utility tie-in, transformer, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and rack-level power distribution
Develop and maintain single-line diagrams, load flow and short-circuit studies, and arc-flash/coordination analyses. Create and review CAD markups (AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP) to ensure design accuracy and cross-discipline alignment
Apply and enforce OCP (Open Compute Project) standards for power delivery, rack busways, ORV3 power shelves, and open-rack architecture
Interface with utilities, land development engineers, and contractors to validate interconnects, metering, and compliance
Review vendor submittals for switchgear, power shelves, CDUs, and cable assemblies to ensure design compatibility
Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and field QA/QC processes to verify design intent
Establish internal electrical standards, design templates, and specification guides to accelerate future deployments

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (PE license preferred)
8+ years of experience in data center, industrial, or utility-scale electrical system design
Deep understanding of OCP power distribution standards (Open Rack v3, ORV3 busbars, power shelves, connectors, safety protocols). Expertise in medium- and low-voltage systems (5 kV–480 V) and 48 V DC distribution
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, and power modeling tools such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower
Comprehensive knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE 1100, and UL standards
Proven experience with grounding/bonding, fault-current coordination, and power redundancy design
Excellent cross-functional communication and documentation skills

Preferred

Prior experience with modular or containerized power systems
Experience coordinating with utilities and developers for site metering and tie-in validation
Familiarity with liquid-cooled or high-density compute environments (50 kW+ racks)
Working knowledge of AI/HPC electrical load planning and thermal-electrical integration
