Business Development Lead - Defense & Counter-UAS
Thalrix is a dual-use defense startup focused on building a low-cost, modular counter-UAS ecosystem for U.S. and allied forces. The Business Development Lead will be responsible for developing sales strategies and building relationships with government agencies and commercial customers to secure contracts and partnerships.

Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, law enforcement units, primes/integrators, and commercial decision-makers
Develop and implement strategies to grow revenue in both government and commercial channels
Stay informed about procurement trends, policies, and bidding opportunities (e.g., RFI, RFP, RFQ, BAA, CSO, SBIR, OTA, IDIQs, and commercial tenders)
Represent Thalrix at industry events, trade shows, demos, and customer meetings
Respond to RFPs/RFQs and other procurement opportunities with high-quality, compliant proposals
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms in line with company policies and government/commercial regulations
Ensure all sales activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and export controls
Maintain accurate records of pipeline, activities, proposals, and contracts in CRM
Strategically develop Thalrix’s government and commercial sales channels and make it easy for customers to procure our systems
Create, track, and manage sales opportunities from lead through close
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience (e.g., government sales, defense-focused business development, procurement, or work with organizations like DIU, AFWERX, etc.)
Experience with government contracting vehicles (e.g., OTAs, IDIQs, SBIR/STTR, GSA, or similar) and familiarity with programs of record
Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets or growth objectives
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, trust-based customer relationships
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a passion for sales and business development
Strong organizational and time-management skills; detail-oriented and able to manage multiple deals at once
Comfortable working in a fast-moving early-stage startup environment
Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) able to work on U.S. defense-related programs
Able and willing to travel within the United States for customer visits, demos, and events
