The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing functional equipment that meets customer expectations and Afinitas engineering standards while coordinating layouts and performing design analysis.

Designs are functional, easily manufactured, and meet customer expectations

Designs are completed according to schedule

Designs meet Afinitas engineering standards

Design analysis, drawings, and bills of material are accurate

Develop innovative conceptual solutions

Coordinate layout and design of equipment

Perform design analysis for equipment

Create manufacturing drawings for equipment

Create and complete bills of material for equipment

Evaluate and implement design changes

Work with manufacturing on build processes and improvement

Use AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office software effectively

Required

4-year Mechanical Engineering degree required

Thorough understanding of drafting standards, dimensioning, and tolerances

Thorough understanding of mechanical power relationships such as horsepower, torque, speed

Thorough understanding of strength of materials and structural analysis

Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes

Ability to perform strength calculations

Training and/or experience in using AutoCAD or similar CAD software

Training and/or experience in using SolidWorks or similar 3-D modeling software

Strong verbal and written interpersonal/communication skills required

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities

Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
