Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting the current manufacturing and facilitating the continuous improvement processes associated with the manufacturing methods and processes in the plant facility
Also develops solutions for production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling
Supports new products and programs by developing new processes, designing tooling and machinery, and developing production controls
Responsible for set-up of new equipment, ensures proper operation of the new equipment, and to teach others the proper use of this equipment
Accountable for applying sound economic methods to equipment and space utilization to meet design and quality criteria with the lowest expense and consistent with the facilities financial and non-financial objectives
Reviews specifications and bid proposals and cost estimate requests to establish the feasibility of accepting orders
Determines manufacturability, investment requirements, product cost and delivery schedules
Develops processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new products and programs; supervises their assembly and proofing
Supports production to resolve any manufacturing issues
Coordinates new product development and cost reduction activities
Manages capital equipment planning and procurement activities
Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots manufacturing support software
Plans, supervises and executes work measurement, and defines operations and operation balance to TAKT time
Plans, justifies and implements facility changes to produce the forecasted volume of product economically
Participates in and leads Kaizen events
Responsible for Labor Routings, Capacity Planning, TPM, and Cost Estimating
Responsible for Capital justification, CNC/Programming, Tool Design and Selection
Responsible for reporting work related injuries and near misses to supervision
Responsible for wearing all required PPE and following applicable safety/environmental rules
Responsible for correcting or reporting unsafe conditions observed within the plant

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
One (1) to three (3) years of progressive, hands on manufacturing engineering experience
Knowledge of formal problem solving methods
Experience with financial controls and product costing
Previous experience as Plant Operations Manager, Plant Continuous Improvement Manager, or Plant Manager with new products and process introductions
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and procedures
In the absence of a four (4) degree in engineering, a minimum of six (6) years experience is required
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint)
Experience with Internet software and E-mail
