AfterCare Program Director

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, and evaluate daily aftercare activities that support students’ social, emotional, and academic development
Maintain a structured and engaging environment for students ranging from [insert grade levels, e.g., Pre-K through 5th grade]
Monitor student attendance and behavior, maintaining accurate records
Hire, train, schedule, and supervise aftercare staff
Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing support and professional development
Ensure appropriate staff-to-student ratios are maintained
Ensure the program complies with all state and local health, safety, and childcare regulations
Administer basic first aid when necessary and manage emergency procedures
Maintain cleanliness and order in the aftercare space
Serve as the primary point of contact for parents regarding aftercare
Communicate regularly with families about student progress, behavioral concerns, and upcoming events
Address parent concerns in a timely and professional manner
Manage program budget and supplies
Track enrollment and coordinate billing with the school’s business office (if applicable)
Prepare reports for school leadership as needed

Qualification

Program ManagementSupervisory ExperienceCPR CertificationCommunication SkillsOrganizational Skills

Required

Minimum of 2 years experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain a calm, positive demeanor

Preferred

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or related field
Supervisory or leadership experience
