Responsibilities

Oversee inventory accounting processes, including perpetual inventory tracking, weighted average cost maintenance, and inventory reconciliations

Partner with supply chain, operations, and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate inventory movements and valuation

Lead cycle count and physical inventory processes, including root cause analysis and correction of variances

Ensure timely and accurate reporting of inventory on the balance sheet, including inventory-in-transit and consignment stock

Cost Accounting:

Maintain and refine the weighted average costing methodology across inventory categories

Analyze production variances and prepare detailed COGS reports and margin analyses

Collaborate with engineering and operations to evaluate BOMs and cost structure changes

Support pricing and profitability analysis for current and future product lines

Controls, Compliance & Reporting:

Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal control requirements related to inventory and cost accounting

Prepare monthly close schedules and support external audit requests related to inventory and COGS

Assist with the development and automation of internal reporting tools and dashboards

Lead process improvement initiatives across inventory and cost workflows

Systems & Cross-Functional Leadership:

Support the implementation and optimization of MRP systems — Fishbowl MRP experience highly preferred

Serve as subject matter expert for inventory and costing configuration within ERP/MRP tools

Partner closely with engineering, supply chain, and finance teams to align systems and data integrity

Mentor junior staff or operations stakeholders on inventory and cost accounting processes
