Research Professional (Limited-Term)

They are seeking a Research Professional to lead a project focused on the Northern Bobwhite in Texas, involving field research, data management, and coordination with state agencies. Responsibilities
Field research – trapping and tagging quail, veg surveys, tracking quail
Supervising field technicians – hiring, training and supervision of field researchers
Data entry and management
Research coordination with sponsors, report writing to sponsor and PI
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license
Demonstrated experience in gamebird or wildlife field research, including trapping, telemetry, and data management
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with proven ability to manage personnel and coordinate multi-faceted field operations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with various stakeholders
Ability to work outdoors in variable and sometimes harsh field conditions
Highly motivated with the ability to work independently, plan ahead, and lead a field crew, including having a strong work ethic
Knowledge of avian ecology
Experience with ArcGIS, managing data, capturing and tagging of birds, and using radio telemetry
Must have the ability/knowledge of safely driving 4×4 trucks and off-road vehicles like UTVs
Preferred
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Wildlife Science, Ecology, Biology, or a related field
