Senior Software Analyst

The Senior Software Analyst role involves supporting the modernization of RWJF's Grants Management system by bridging business partners and technical teams to ensure Salesforce solutions align with the foundation's mission and operational workflows.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with RWJF Program staff, Grants Management, IT, and external partners to elicit, document, and validate business requirements aligned with the grantmaking lifecycle
Translate grantmaking processes into scalable Salesforce solutions using the Grantmaking Application with Nonprofit Cloud and Experience Cloud and ensure alignment with RWJF’s operational and strategic goals
Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases to support application intake, review, award, disbursement, and reporting phases
Support integration efforts with systems such as Workday, Docusign, and Guidestar/Candid; collaborate with developers, project managers, and vendors to ensure deliverables meet contractual and quality standards
Facilitate workshops and feedback sessions to align system capabilities with business needs; support change management, training, and adoption strategies for internal teams and external grantees
Manage QA processes across development projects, including integration testing, defect tracking, and adherence to functional policies and best practices
Provide technical guidance and documentation to end users, ensuring solutions are intuitive, effective, and user friendly
Maintain current knowledge of evolving technologies—especially user interface development tools and web platforms—and promote consistent application of functional procedures and QA standards
Define and manage full software development lifecycle plans, including scoping, scheduling, prototyping, testing, user acceptance, and implementation
Qualification
Required

Three to five years of Business Analyst experience, with 2+ years in Salesforce projects, preferably in nonprofit or philanthropic organizations
Experience with Salesforce Grantmaking Applications with Nonprofit Cloud, Experience Cloud, and configuration management
Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence
Demonstrated understanding of the full application development lifecycle
Experience with two or more full lifecycle Salesforce implementations
Experience managing agile build cycles, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and iterative development
Hands-on experience with application testing tools such as Playwright
Proven ability to perform QA activities including manual testing, defect tracking, and validation of software functionality
Experience supporting change management and training for diverse user groups
Experience supporting end users and developing user-friendly documentation
Strong communication and partner engagement skills
Core Microsoft 365 skills including use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint
Demonstrated project management experience, including managing multiple projects and/or project teams
Ability to define test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Strong orientation toward quality assurance and process improvement
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to present technical concepts in user-friendly language
Strong interpersonal skills; able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks under pressure
Adaptability to shift priorities and deadlines
Bachelor's degree in business, Information Systems, Public Administration, or related field
Preferred
Candidates whose experience exceeds the minimum requirements will be considered with particular interest for the role: Five or more years of experience with Salesforce certifications including Certified Business Analyst, Administrator, Nonprofit Cloud Consultant and/or Solution Architect; experience with grantmaking systems and nonprofit data standards; knowledge of data governance, security models, and impact reporting frameworks
Seven or more years of experience with Salesforce certifications including Certified Business Analyst, Administrator, Nonprofit Cloud Consultant and/or Solution Architect; experience with grantmaking systems and nonprofit data standards; knowledge of data governance, security models, and impact reporting frameworks
