Facilities, Maintenance & EHS Manager

As a Facilities, Maintenance & EHS Manager, you will oversee Facilities Management, Preventive Maintenance, and Environmental, Health & Safety across two sites, ensuring safe and efficient operations while leading a dedicated team.

Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, including air quality, waste management, stormwater, and hazardous materials
Maintain required permits, documentation, and reporting for local, state, and federal agencies
Oversee proper handling, labeling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials
Lead environmental audits, inspections, and sustainability initiatives focused on waste reduction, energy conservation, and emissions control
Partner with facilities and project leaders to embed environmental best practices into capital projects and site improvements
Monitor workplace conditions such as air quality, noise, ergonomics, and chemical exposure to ensure a healthy and compliant environment
Manage PPE programs, industrial hygiene testing, and ergonomic assessments
Lead employee health and safety training, including hazard communication, chemical safety, and emergency response
Support medical surveillance and coordinate with occupational health providers as needed
Conduct safety risk assessments, hazard analyses, and routine inspections to identify and mitigate risks
Maintain OSHA logs, oversee safety audits, and lead investigations for incidents and near-misses
Build a proactive safety culture through communication, engagement, and visual management of the safety pyramid (observations, near-misses, injuries)
Ensure contractor safety, emergency preparedness, and compliance with all OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and company safety standards
Develop KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce incidents and improve performance year over year
Oversee day-to-day facility operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities across two sites to ensure uptime, safety, and operational excellence
Collaborate with HR and the facilities project leader to manage landlord relationships, coordinate improvement initiatives, and support an outstanding employee environment
Partner with the Facilities Project Manager, architects, and general contractors on site expansion and major capital projects, ensuring alignment with operational needs and company standards
Lead facility improvement projects, rapid response initiatives, and ongoing upgrades to maintain a high-performing, compliant, and efficient workspace
Support vendor management in partnership with HR, overseeing key service providers such as janitorial, landscaping, utilities, and maintenance contractors to ensure quality, cost control, and responsiveness
Drive proactive facility planning and readiness by identifying improvement opportunities and ensuring the infrastructure scales with business growth
Leverage existing preventive maintenance programs to develop, implement, and execute a structured PM strategy that optimizes Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reduces downtime
Manage repair, calibration, and maintenance schedules for key production assets and supporting infrastructure
Coordinate maintenance documentation, spare parts inventory, and service records
Support capital improvement projects including equipment installation, relocation, and commissioning
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team spanning EHS, facilities, and maintenance—coaching both formally and informally to build skill, confidence, and engagement
Foster a responsive, professional, and collaborative service culture that supports the needs of operations and employees
Build visual systems and KPIs to track team performance and drive continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of combined experience in facilities, maintenance, and/or EHS roles within manufacturing, industrial, or high-growth environments
Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Cal/OSHA regulations
Proven success in developing preventive maintenance programs and improving equipment reliability
Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multi-site operations
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
Hands-on, “builder” mindset with the ability to balance tactical execution and strategic planning
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment—able to triage priorities, execute quickly, and bring calm, professional expertise that grounds executive leadership
Preferred
Experience with 3D printers and milling machines as plus
Experience with digital scanning tools a plus
