Assistant District Attorney - Trial Line
The Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia is seeking an Assistant District Attorney for the Flint Judicial Circuit. This role involves reviewing case files, drafting legal documents, evaluating cases, and presenting them in court, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Review reports/case files submitted by law enforcement
Determine whether further investigation is needed
Research alternative or additional charges. Read and research case law
Draft accusations and indictments. Dismiss cases that are not prosecutable
Evaluate cases for suitability for Accountability Courts
Present cases to grand jury. Question witnesses, answer jurors’ questions
Work with trial team (trial partner, investigator, victim advocate, trial assistant)
Determine appropriate sentence recommendations
Evaluate and research potential defenses
Negotiate pleas to resolve cases
Develop trial plan and strategy for cases
Subpoena appropriate witnesses for motions and trials
File motions in appropriate time frame prior to trial
Comply with discovery requirements
Research and argue all pretrial motions
Prepare for and go to trial on cases that cannot be otherwise resolved
Qualification
Required
All applicants must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or be in good standing of another state's bar association that is eligible for reciprocity admittance to the State Bar of Georgia
Be admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals
All candidates are subject to a background check
Applicants selected for hire will be subject to fingerprinting
A criminal history background check
A motor vehicle driver's history check
Pre-employment drug screening
Employment is contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of each investigation
