Responsibilities
Lead and support all phases of agile software development, including design, development, testing, integration, and deployment
Build and optimize distributed systems running at scale across AWS and high-performance compute clusters
Apply advanced AI techniques-such as LLMs, RAG, and agentic AI-to enhance system capability and automation
Improve performance, reliability, and scalability through tuning, monitoring, and observability best practices
Support ongoing operations, sustainment, and enhancement of mission-critical services
Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and contribute to architectural decision-making
Evaluate technical requirements, estimate effort, and create high-quality designs and documentation
Qualification
Required
20+ years of software engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or 4 additional years of relevant SWE experience in lieu of a degree)
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG frameworks, and agentic AI systems
Deep understanding of AWS cloud architecture, services, SDKs, and APIs
Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform
Experience with observability and search platforms (Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, etc.)
Solid grounding in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment, and monitoring
Strong Java development skills for distributed, networked, multi-threaded systems
Agile development experience with modern source control and collaboration tools
Strong Linux fundamentals and the ability to script in languages like Python, Ruby, or Perl
Familiarity with microservices architectures and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)
Understanding of security and compliance best practices for cloud-native systems
