Consulting
Responsibilities
Logistics and scheduling of drilling crews
Outlining laboratory testing
Performing data analysis
Providing assistance in the preparation of geotechnical reports
Basic interpretation of laboratory test data
Engineering analyses for earthwork, slopes, foundations, and seismic hazards
Assisting with general civil engineering duties
Completing laboratory testing
Construction administration
Producing technical reports and memos
Laboratory requests (basic)
Calculations (basic)
Collaborating with supervisor and/or resource manager to plan work time on assignments
Conducting basic monitoring of budget and schedule for simple project tasks assigned
Reading emails, occasionally attending client meetings, listening, and preparing meeting minutes
Performing other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required
EIT/EI required (within 6 months of hire)
Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
Basic understanding of technical fundamentals
Performs basic technical tasks assigned by market sector with oversight from others
Motivated to learn new technical skills through self-study and mentoring
Team player who mostly functions in a supporting role in a project team setting
Produces technical reports and memos under close direction/oversight from others
Basic understanding of scopes, schedules, and budgets
Demonstrates basic familiarity with the following design codes: ASCE 7, AASHTO, IBC, Local Codes
Infrequent direct client interaction
Ability to dig with shovel or digging bars
Ability to walk and hike through rough terrain, snow, and ice
Ability to lift and carry between 30 and 50 pounds
Work may be split between the field and office
Field work is performed outdoors during year-round weather conditions
Preferred
Basic Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) skills
Basic Market Sector Software (gINT/Geosystems) skills
Basic CAD/GIS skills
