Regional Environmental Engineer, AWS Environmental Team
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Regional Environmental Engineer to join their environmental team, which plays a key role in environmental permitting and compliance. The successful candidate will lead environmental due diligence for site selection and acquisition, develop permitting strategies, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Assess environmental risks and requirements and develop mitigations and strategies to support data center siting and development strategies and site-specific project delivery
Lead technical aspects of environmental due diligence, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, regulatory and permitting evaluations, natural, biological and cultural resource evaluations, and noise assessments
Deliver environmental permits, approvals, and plans to enable on-time and compliant construction and operations for new data center locations and expansion of existing sites
Communicate environmental requirements, risks, and activities to internal and external project partners
Coordinate with partner teams including Real Estate, Design, Water, Legal, Risk, Power, and others to optimize site designs to consider natural resource or operational constraints
Develop site development and permitting strategies that are environmentally responsible and sustainable while meeting project timelines
Lead regulatory agency interactions and negotiations in support of environmental permit acquisition and regional development strategies
Develop, manage and track metrics to evaluate project success
Qualification
Required
Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems
3+ years of project management experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
5+ years of experience delivering multi-media environmental due diligence, permitting, and compliance for existing sites and new development
Preferred
Experience in project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure
Experience in multiple states within the US (preferably in NC, GA, LA, MS, TX, TN, OK, FL)
Experience managing and/or supporting community/public interactions
Experience with Smartsheet or other project management software
Up to 25% travel
