HR Admin and Payroll Assistant
Helix Traffic Solutions is a national leader in traffic control and work zone safety, dedicated to improving public safety. They are seeking an HR Admin/Payroll Assistant to provide administrative support for the human resource department, manage employee records, assist with onboarding, and handle payroll functions.

Responsibilities
Identify, analyze, research, and maintain DOL standards, file retentions in compliance with Federal, multiple State and Local laws
Update, maintain, and enter applicable information into Dayforce and TCR systems
Assist with new hire onboarding paperwork, and termination records
Assist with managers, employee’s daily communication, questions, emails
Ensure HR policies are kept updated, accessible and confidential
Assist with performance reviews, compliance, and submissions
Process HR reports on activities and compliance issues on an at-need basis
Other HR duties as needed
Scanning and filing when needed
Collection and Verification of Timesheets and other Payroll Back Up
Daily adding of missed punch forms to Dayforce
Updating Invoice program TCR to match Timesheets
Compiling and sending Certified Payroll Reports to clients when completed
Ad Hoc and Certified Payroll reporting (Labor reports and check register reports)
Weekly Invoice Identification and resolution assistance
Other payroll duties as needed
Qualification
Required
2-4 years of relevant experience in HR and Payroll processing
Bachelor's Degree in any related field; a plus but not required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
Proficiency in reading and interpreting Department of Labor rules and specifications for multi-state companies
Strong knowledge of basic payroll processing
Experience using basic HRIS integrated payroll software
Strong attention to detail and ability to assess project risks and complexities
Excellent Time Management and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to work independently and consistently to meet deadlines
Ability to analyze and prepare summary reports
Ability to build and maintain relationships with management and staff
Able to work cross functionally with payroll, and succession payroll backup
Computer proficiency in HRIS/Payroll platforms required
Confidentiality is crucial for protecting sensitive employee information
