Lightcast Discovery is redefining complex cell analysis with its innovative Envisia™ platform. They are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to ensure smooth installations and maintenance of their systems while building relationships with customers and collaborating with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Perform on-site installations, preventative maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of Lightcast Envisia™ systems
Provide responsive and high-quality technical support to customers and collaborators
Manage logistics for systems, spare parts, and tools to ensure timely service delivery
Use service management systems to plan, document, and track all service activities
Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and applications teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
Identify opportunities for product and process improvements and communicate customer insights to internal teams
Support logistics and partner service coordination for a seamless customer experience
Travel extensively (>50%) across North America and occasionally to the UK headquarters for training and meetings

Qualification

Field-based service experienceTechnical knowledge in systemsProficiency with Windows OSService ticketing systemsProblem-solving skillsInterpersonal skillsOrganizational skillsTeam-oriented

Required

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field
5+ years of field-based service experience, ideally in analytical, life science, or high-tech instrumentation
Strong technical knowledge across optical, electrical, and mechanical systems; experience in microfluidics or droplet-based technologies is a plus
Proficiency with Windows OS, computer hardware, and networking
Experience with service ticketing systems and structured customer support processes
Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Team-oriented, flexible, and self-driven with a genuine passion for technology and science
