Responsibilities
Assisting with complex, multi-party negotiations, including representing Oaktree in meetings with other stakeholders
Monitoring the performance of existing investments with a focus on covenants, liquidity, and financial flexibility
Developing detailed financial models to analyze the impact of potential restructuring transactions
Communicating effectively with outside advisors to advance Oaktree’s strategy
Performing qualitative business and industry due diligence in collaboration with the broader investment team
Participating in underwriting and structuring of new investments to ensure downside protection; and
Presenting investment recommendations to portfolio management
Qualification
Required
2 years of restructuring investment banking analyst experience plus 2-4 years in asset management, direct lending or private equity, ideally focused on credit investments
Experience analyzing and negotiating debt restructuring transactions in a principal capacity
Demonstrated ability to execute independently on multiple projects with limited oversight
Polish/presence to work with senior professional at other firms and senior members of company management
Working knowledge of restructuring legal framework, including bankruptcy law
Outstanding financial modeling and analytical skills
Demonstrated competency in financial statement analysis, business valuation, accounting and finance
A Bachelor's degree with honors from a top university or college is required
