Emergency Management Specialist (Preparedness)
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking an Emergency Management Specialist (Preparedness) to join their team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of emergency management and related directives, policies, and regulations, and will be responsible for managing and executing preparedness activities while providing technical assistance and program support.

Responsibilities
Managing, coordinating, and executing all-hazards preparedness activities, including identifying and assessing risk, estimating the level of capabilities needed to address those risks, building or sustaining required levels of capability, developing and implementing plans to deliver those capabilities, validating and monitoring progress, and reviewing and updating efforts to promote continuous improvement
Providing expert technical assistance and program delivery support to stakeholders along with advice to high-ranking and professional staff concerning the accomplishment of complex preparedness programs that require whole community integration to build, sustain, and deliver core capabilities and achieve the desired level of preparedness and operational readiness
Performing substantive mission-oriented work and serving as a program manager and advisor to senior level management and professional staff involving program execution issues associated with emergency and disaster preparedness
Qualification
Required
You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position
You must successfully pass a background investigation
Selective Service registration required
Current federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card
You must be able to deploy with little or no advance notice to anywhere in the United States and its territories for an extended period of time
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service
To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position
Coordinating resource typing and emergency personnel qualifications consistent with the National Incident Management System
Analyzing, identifying problems, and recommending solutions to stakeholders
