Library Technician (Developmental) NF-02
USAJOBS is seeking a Library Technician (Developmental) to support the USAG Benelux- MWR Library. The role involves providing technician support, registering patrons, processing library materials, and maintaining records.

Responsibilities
Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public
Registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, processes overdues and reserves, assists with interlibrary loans and reserves
Shelves library materials, prepares displays, programs activities, answers basic reference questions, and assists customers in locating materials; and/or provides technical services support in a variety of function
Basic/copy cataloging, ordering/receiving/processing and de-acquisitioning of library materials. Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories. Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems
This is an entry trainee level position leading to the full performance level as described in PD AL973 for Library Technician, NF-1411-03 position
Qualification
Required
One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade showing progressive responsibility to perform the duties associated with those of a library technician such as: follow basic and well-established library procedures, perform duties related to circulation, acquisition, disposal of library materials, as well as collection, maintenance and preservation of books
Two years of education above high school
A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements
Demonstrate the ability to communicate orally and deal effectively with people

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program
