Server Administrator II-EN

Responsibilities
Actively participates in the maintenance, monitoring, reporting, and support of operating systems, applications, and services
Perform routine problem analysis and resolution design for systems and applications
Knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell scripting
Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, communication, network, and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required in accordance with SLA guidelines
Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to ensure the change management processes are met and followed
Participate in design, planning, installation, and support of computer systems, network hardware, software applications, and peripherals
Solid understanding of TCP/IP network fundamentals and related equipment
Understanding of Windows Server technologies (2019 and 2022 preferred)
Provides support for cloud-based infrastructure components (i.e., VM Instance based Linux or Windows Servers)
Conducts Monitoring of utilization, performance and availability of system components & services
Conducts log analysis and patch management to ensure high system integrity and security
Effectively use Help Desk ticketing system for incident and problem management, customer interaction and follow-up
Create and maintain System Configuration documentation
Maintain reports regarding system downtime, plans for preventative maintenance, and disaster recovery
Active contribution towards Cross-Training initiative for Tier II Platforms
Assist with management of Active Directory, Group Policies, Users and Computers
Properly prioritize, coordinate, and escalate unresolved issues or emergencies to other support tiers/teams in accordance with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans
Liaises with end-users, management and other systems departments
Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department management
On-call for production system support
Provide shift-based continuous monitoring of network and storage performance providing Tier 2 & 3 support for a global network infrastructure
Assist the network team
Qualification
Required
BS degree in computer related curriculum and 4+ years network and operating system experience, or AA degree and 6 years' experience in network and operating system design, test and maintenance or equivalent related experience
Experience supporting client issues with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Platforms and Federation Services (ADFS, SAML, Duo, Microsoft Auth etc.)
Experience deploying production systems in the cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Experience with Azure Security and Identity services (e.g., Security Center, Azure Active Directory, RBAC, NSGs / ASGs)
Experience with Azure Networking services (e.g., VNETs, Load Balancers, Front Door, ExpressRoute, Traffic Manager, Content Delivery Network)
Basic knowledge of IT security regulations and standards such as ISO 27001
Experience managing/implementing Windows Server technologies (2016/2019 preferred), Active Directory and Group Policy management
Previous experience supporting the following: Microsoft SQL 2008/2012/2014/2016 (DB Maintenance, Access), Microsoft Exchange 2016/2019 and Office 365 (Mailbox maintenance), Microsoft IIS
Previous experience supporting an Enterprise Backup and Enterprise SAN platforms
Expertise and practical experience with Microsoft server products and VMware technologies (i.e., Hyper-V, DFS, Active Directory, Exchange\O365, VMware, vSphere and vSAN.)
Good understanding of SCCM & its functionality
Experience supporting Server compute infrastructure
Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and related network services (i.e. DNS, SMTP, DHCP, Load-Balancers, etc.)
Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment
Must have well refined troubleshooting skills, ability to determine the root cause of a problem and identify and resolve systemic problems
Ability to manage multiple tasks, while effectively focusing on priority issues
Ability to create, document, and follow processes and procedures
Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance
Incumbents must hold one or more of the following: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Azure Fundamentals, or Azure Administrator Associate
Preferred
Experience with SAN, NAS, Virtual Storage and Backup technologies
Administration experience on Microsoft Enterprise CA – Cert Requests/Monitoring
Administration experience on Microsoft File Server (DFS-R/DFS-N, ABE) – File Share Requests, NTFS Permissions
Experience with virtualization (VMware vCenter/ESXi, VMware Horizon) – VM Deployment, Monitoring, Configuration
Familiarity with Information Assurance programs is a plus
Microsoft PowerShell Scripting for Server/Platform management
Experience supporting the following Linux platforms (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
Assist with the physical installation and maintenance of network equipment, cabling and troubleshooting connectivity problems to ensure seamless network operations
