Responsibilities

Implements and develops complex improvements to manufacturing process, material flow, equipment, production design, tools or machines and methods to ensure maximum manufacturing capability, increase productivity and ensure safety standards
Oversees the trial use of tools, building production samples and prototypes, and investigates the new products for improved production, quality, decreased costs and/or health and safety reasons
Establishes procedures for set-up, continual maintenance, safe operation of new equipment, and authorizes technical support of upgrades or repairs to existing equipment
Participates in and supports the quotation process, estimating cost, equipment and manufacturing layouts needed for new product launches and/or engineering changes to ensure profitability and plans and schedules appropriate timetables to meet production deadlines
Responsibility to follow up equipment and tooling suppliers during the design, production, assembly and testing of new equipment and tolling respecting the established standards and workflows
Solicits, analyzes, and negotiates quotes on capital equipment, as assigned to ensure cost effectiveness
Apply the principles of Lean Manufacturing
Performs time measurement studies and sets operational standards
Execute and maintain the PFMEA’s
Ensure safety standards are respected
Supports regular maintenance of the relevant project data
Supports the more complex work measurement studies and line balancing for new products and improvements to current products, while developing plant-manning levels
Collects and analyzes graphic data on labor and production standards comparing manufacturing performance to production efficiency and cost in a continuous effort to enhance the processes
Investigates and proposes productivity improvements for cost reduction programs and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge in the industry
Utilizes CAD system to maintain and update layout drawings
Completes and performs other duties/tasks as may be assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent and up to 3 years' experience
High Competence in MS-Office applications
Ability to perform analyses in an organized manner
Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations per project objective
Ability to articulate logical analytical thought processes
Ability to anticipate questions, what-if scenarios, nuances of data and analysis
Ability to deliver accurate and reliable analysis
Ability to report information in context and at a level that allows decisions to be made
