Responsibilities

Conduct on-site assessments and audits of potential and existing suppliers' quality management systems (QMS) and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with standards like ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100
Manage the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) with suppliers for new electronic parts and designs
Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics (KPIs) to identify systemic performance gaps and drive improvement plans
Function as the primary technical liaison between internal engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams and external suppliers to resolve complex technical and quality issues
Work with suppliers to define and approve process controls for critical features of electronic components, providing feedback on manufacturing methods to improve yields, reduce costs, and eliminate waste
Plan and execute regular supplier process and quality system audits, driving the implementation of actions to meet quality and industrial standards of excellence
Ensure fulfillment of all documentation and record-keeping requirements and provide training to suppliers on company quality policies and procedures

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality engineering role, with a strong background in the electronics industry (e.g., PCB assembly, cable/harness manufacturing)

Preferred

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification
Experience as a certified quality auditor
Experience with data analysis tools and quality management software
In-depth understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100 etc.)
Proficiency in quality methodologies and tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and 8D problem-solving
Knowledge of industry standards for electronics manufacturing (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620) is highly desirable
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
