Matrix Service Company is seeking a Surveyor Rodman to assist in surveying and measuring points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction. The role involves setting up equipment, marking survey points, and maintaining tools to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities

Carry and position survey rods, stakes, and other equipment to assist with measurements
Place markers, stakes, or flags to identify boundaries, elevations, or construction layouts
Help the survey crew by clearing brushes or debris to create clear lines of sight
Assist in the setup and operation of survey equipment, such as total stations and GPS units
Record measurements and observations as directed by the Party Chief or Instrument Person
Maintain and organize tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working conditions
Follow safety protocols to promote a safe working environment for the team

Required

Must have experience working in maintenance/turnaround/new construction and knowledge of basic hand tools
Must be able to pass the Craft Helper proficiency testing at or above 70%
Must be able to complete the Matrix Service Safety training and Client / Site specific training
Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status appropriate drug testing program
Must be able to pass background check
Employee will be standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting
Must be able to hear, speak, understand and communicate effectively
May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs
May be required to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work off platforms while utilizing proper fall protection and safety protocols
Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow and wind; and must be able to work for long period of times up to 12 hours a day
Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots

Experience working on Surveying crews preferred
