In this role, you will work closely with senior leadership to support growth strategies and provide subject matter expertise while mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities
Perform power system studies such as temporary overvoltage, switching overvoltage, insulation coordination, harmonic, flicker, transient recovery voltage, energization, lightning overvoltage etc
Develop dynamic generator/load models, perform disturbance ride through model tuning and perform PSCAD/PSSE model benchmarking
Perform steady state studies such as load flow, short circuit and power quality
Provide advisory support to generation, large load and merchant transmission developers
Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives
Lead, teach and mentor junior level Power Systems Engineers
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience in power system modelling and power system studies
Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering with power system emphasis
Proficiency in power system modelling software such as PSCAD, PSSE, ETAP or equivalents
Strong understanding of relevant industry standards such as IEEE/IEC/CIGRE
Perform power system studies such as temporary overvoltage, switching overvoltage, insulation coordination, harmonic, flicker, transient recovery voltage, energization, lightning overvoltage etc
Develop dynamic generator/load models, perform disturbance ride through model tuning and perform PSCAD/PSSE model benchmarking

Preferred
Experience with Data Center equipment dynamics is an asset
Experience with conventional generation machine dynamics is an asset
Experience with control system tuning is an asset
Knowledge of datacenter equipment dynamic and conventional generation equipment dynamic is an asset
Familiarity with other specialized software such CDEGS, COMSOL, CYMCAP, EMTP, PowerFactory WinIGS etc is an asset
